With industrial water solutions in the spotlight, what opportunities will this expanding market present and how can companies attract, retain and motivate employees to support these on-site projects?

With the support of the PUB, Singapore's National Water Agency, and co-organised by the Singapore Water Association, the event will pull together experts and industry leaders from across the water sector to explore this pressing subject. Candy CHOONG *Moderator
Head of LVI Associates APAC

Ms. Candy Choong has over 8 years of experience in leading and building high performing teams across various industries such as Sustainability and Water, Financial Services, Infrastructure Engineering, Renewable Energy. She has hands on exposure to various APAC markets such as Singapore, Australia, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and China.


Irshaad HAKIM
Senior Vice President at SUEZ

Irshaad Hakim is the Senior Vice President for the Oceania & SEA Region and provides leadership and strategic direction for both the Chemicals and Monitoring Solutions (CMS) and Engineered Systems (ES) businesses in APAC. He is based out of Singapore. 

A 20-year Water Veteran, he has held various roles in the business. Prior to his current role, Ish was the ES leader of the SUEZ WTS business in APAC (Oceania, SEA, Korea & Japan). His team has delivered significant large projects & services for the business in Mining, O&G, Municipal & F&B sectors.

Ish is a firm believer that the water business brings together experienced professionals and advanced technologies to solve the world’s most complex challenges related to water availability and quality, and helps customers increase productivity and meet environmental regulations.

Mr. Vivek Chatrath is a Business Leader at Microsoft Singapore. He has over 25 years of work experience across most countries in the Asia-Pacific region while working for companies in the Technology and Consulting sector. He has had exposure to customers and partners working across myriad industries and functional domains, and now spends much of his time working with customers and partners to help drive digital transformation for Singapore-based companies. He is a life-long learner and spends much of his time learning new things.




Executive Director at Jacobs | Chairman City West Water

Mr. David Middleton has 28 years engineering, Executive and Director experience in the water industry. He currently holds the role of Executive Director, Water for the Middle East, Asia Pacific region with Jacobs. Mr. Middleton is also Chair of City West Water, one of Melbourne’s retail water companies.





Global Head of Digital Projects at Mott MacDonald

Mr. Derek Murray is Asia Digital Lead and Global Practice Leader for BIM at Mott MacDonald. As a consulting civil engineer and technology leader with 23 years’ global industry experience, he has served global and regional technology leadership and management roles for Mott MacDonald in the UK, Middle East and South-East Asia. With first-hand experience in how to disrupt from within, in recent years Derek directed a global programme of digital transformation from the company's Asia headquarters in Singapore. This cuts across all of the company's sectors and includes workstreams to connect design processes globally, incubate emerging technologies and build internal capability for delivering differently in the digital age. Mr. Murray is currently shaping the next evolution of digital practices at Mott MacDonald as well as supporting major projects in the Asia Pacific region.


KOH Chong Hin
Managing Director, South East Asia at Xylem

Mr. Koh Chong Hin leads Xylem’s business in the Southeast Asia region.  He is responsible for driving business growth across Xylem's wide portfolio of water technology solutions.  Mr. Koh earned a Master of Engineering degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  




Senior Vice President and General Manager at Nalco Water, Asia Pacific (An EcoLab Company)

Mr. Vishal Sharma is SVP and GM of Nalco Water Asia Pacific, a division of Ecolab that is reinventing the way water is managed. He actively explores solutions that help customers through innovative science, digital technology, connected chemistry and extensive knowledge to minimize water use and maximize water quality. Mr. Sharma strives to make the world a better place for future generations.

Denise YEO *Moderator
Head of Water Technology at LVI Associates

Ms. Denise Yeo graduated from the University of Melbourne with a degree in Psychology. She joined LVI Associates Singapore as part of their pioneer group when we launched in Asia. LVI Associates was a total of 6 people and have been growing ever since. Ms. Yeo was tasked to grow out the Water Technologies space and have been doing so for the APAC region.

Ms. Yeo specializes and have completed both retained and contingency searches for mid-C suite level roles across the entire value chain including (Regional) Sales, Engineering, PMP, Financing etc. She covers across the Water and Wastewater sectors for both municipal and industrial areas.




Human Resource Director at Danaher Corporation

Mr. Arun Kaimal is a well-rounded HR Leader with experience in full Employee Life Cycle HR operations in different geographies for close to 12 years now. In 2016, he was promoted as Head of Leadership Development & Engagement for Danaher India and starting January 2017 he moved to Singapore to take on the role of HR Director for Water Quality Platform, Asia Pacific. In 2018, Mr. Kaimal was invited as a Panellist / Speaker by various forums in Singapore like HRM Asia, Proventa HR Leaders Summit, HR Shapers Round Table Panel Discussion and others. He is a people’s person and has the ability to connect and engage with people from different parts of the world work with them as a team.

Mr. Kaimal is also a passionate Quizzer, Quiz Master and a very active Social worker. In his spare time, he loves reading and spending time in community service. He is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Situational Leadership II Trainer and a Behavioural Competency Assessor.

 LOH Pui Wah
Director, Career & Attachment Office, Student and Academic Services Department, Nanyang Technology University of Singapore

Mr. Loh Pui Wah has more than 33 years of working experience spanning both manufacturing and services industry holding senior leadership positions in various professional functions. Mr. Loh joined Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore as Director, Career and Attachment Office in 2008. He is responsible for Work-based Education, Career Development and Employability for all NTU undergraduates and post-graduates. Mr. Loh prepares graduates for jobs and future careers, and helps employers hire these talents. As Executive Coach, he is passionate in imparting life skills to others especially his students at NTU.



Kunal SHAH
Vice President - Global Market Development & Strategy at Anaergia

Mr. Kunal Shah is the Vice President of Global Marketing & Strategy at Anaergia and leads business for the Group in Asia Pacific focused on Maximizing resource recovery from Wastewater, Solid waste and Agricultural waste. He has over a decade of Global experience in the water sector in marketing, business development, Technology M&A, Global Strategic partnerships, Corporate Strategy and setting up operations in various countries in SE Asia. He has lived and worked in Chennai, Manila, Beijing, Kuala Lumpur and now based in Singapore. 

Mr. Shah is a Chemical Engineer from Pune University, India and a Singapore Young Water Leaders, 2014 and an International Climate Champion from India, 2010. 



Vice President of Global Engineering, Gradiant Corporation 

Mr. Edward Tierney has spent over 27 years solving complex environmental issues with innovative solutions, having responsibility for the design and manufacturing of over 500 wastewater treatment and air pollution control facilities. Mr. Tierney serves at Gradiant’s Vice President of Global Engineering, overseeing a team of talented multi-disciplinary engineers, programmers and designers who bring technology to life through robust designs and customer-centric detail. Prior to Gradiant, Mr. Tierney had various leadership roles, including his 17 year tenure at BISCO Environmental, where he was founder, President and CEO. During his time there, he led the company from start-up to a national multi-office team of over 100 Business Development, Finance, Engineering and Manufacturing professionals, providing in-house design and manufacturing of custom air and water treatment facilities to Engineering Consultants, Major Industrial, Pharma and Major Oil clients across the globe.


Dr. Senthil Raja JAYAPAL
Head, Faculty of Engineering Career Advisory, National University of Singapore

Dr. Senthil Raja Jayapal heads the Career Advisory for the NUS Faculty of Engineering undergraduate students. He holds a PhD in Computation and Systems Biology and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the National University of Singapore. Dr. Jayapal has more than 10 years of experience in biomedical research, as well as extensive experience in teaching and mentoring at the secondary and tertiary level in Singapore.

Ms. Suprapto is the Treatment Team Leader at Mott MacDonald Singapore and is a qualified Project Manager with PMI and APMG. She has managed both remote and local teams throughout her career in New Zealand, Australia and Singapore and believes that building a collaborative environment is the key driver for success.
