Medical Advisors ensure the delivery of clinical facilities and services as well as long-term quality health care by acting as a bridge between sales and marketing functions, clinical research teams, and other departments. They provide scientific and medical expertise and contribute to the development of both brand and medical strategies, medical governance and guidance.

Job Description
Medical advisors are responsible for reviewing complex cases, supporting medical coordinators, reviewing medical records, assisting claims processing team managers, and controlling the costs of claims raised through their network. The role also includes supervision of medical service coordinators and physicians as well as acting as the final decision authority for compensation claims. Medical advisors also have a responsibility to interact with various key stakeholders, develop medical plans for different products, and contribute to brand strategies. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the sales and marketing team to develop marketing materials and strategies
  • Work with the regulatory affairs department to obtain product licenses
  • Support all the medical information teams to ensure that product information is up-to-date
  • Work closely with technical and medical writers to create collateral such as package inserts, marketing material 
  • Interact with senior level regional and national health authorities.
  • Provide scientific input into feasibility assessments for clinical trial proposals


Key Skills & Qualifications
Medical Advisors should have a medical degree or certification in the medical field, as well as occupational health and relevant experience. A degree or diploma in translational medicine, pharmaceutical medicine or clinical research is highly recommended. 

Preferential candidates for this role include those with previous medical management or similar industry-specific relevant experience. Applicants who can efficiently demonstrate a wide range of interpersonal and written communication skills, along with strong presentation and documentation abilities are given priority. Experience working with electronic medical records is an advantage.
