SAP (Systems Applications and Products) specialists undertake a variety of tasks based on the sector or industry in which they’re working. For instance, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and CRM (Customer Relationship Marketing) in the Telecom industry require specialists who are technical experts, and have years of experience of the ICM – SAP suite covering design and implementation, configuration as well as technical support and migration. 
An experienced SAP professional may be required to identify the schedules for the completion of existing projects, assemble the necessary resources required and negotiate the terms to deliver the expected outcome. A specialist provides leadership, co-coordinating activities, assigning duties and establishing roles if there is a project management team. Job Description
An SAP professional is responsible for serving as a functional specialist on an implementation of SAP (SD/MM/PP or any other module) and financial planning. They are also responsible for gathering documentation, coordinating all areas of functional overlap, testing of the assigned functional area, and implementation. They process system integration and flows from a user point of view, identify the resources required to implement changes successfully to business processes, and create potential solutions for system limitations and certain user activities.

Key Skills & Qualifications      
SAP Specialists must have leadership qualities, the ability to work under pressure, high levels of technical knowledge and an objective approach. 
This job requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject. A consultant should have several years of experience in various SAP functional areas. Proficiency in SAP modules is a must, along with excellent communication and client management skills.
