ServiceNow: Shaping Demand for Talent

In January 2019, tech consultants Gartner announced their first Magic Quadrant for Cloud Management Platforms, (CMP) naming ServiceNow as a ‘niche player’ and one of only nine vendors within the quadrant. Their report recognizes that today’s enterprises are seeking improved ways to optimize their cloud infrastructure and identifies which platforms it believes will be most effective in supporting them to achieve that goal.

This the first time that Gartner has created a CMP Magic Quadrant, therefore the criteria is expected to evolve. The requirements for consideration currently include the ability to:

  • Support Amazon Web Services (AWS) Microsoft Azure and private cloud deployments.
  • Provide CMP functions alongside data including the number of customers and revenue.

It also helps get more praise on ServiceNow, which has spent five consecutive years (and is aiming for a sixth in 2019) as a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for IT Service Management Tools. The company’s ‘completeness of vision and ability to execute’ are regarded as fundamental to its success.
