Company Summary: An independently owned Medical Communications agency is looking for a motivated, engaging, and internally driven Account Director to take a highly visible role in their Chicago office. They are consistently ranked as a top 50 medcomms agency by MM&M, and are known for promoting a collaborative and team-based atmosphere with approachable senior management.

You will maintain ownership of key accounts while functioning as the primary point of contact between the agency and your client(s). You will be able to help steer the ship by consulting on strategy while maintaining a firm grasp on the day to day print and digital tactics employed by your team. The Account Director will be responsible for:
  • Managing the day to day client relationship by providing status updates, strategic consultation, and general industry know-how related to pharmaceutical marketing covering both digital and print tactics.
  • Directly oversee junior team members and direct reports as required by account.
  • Maintaining a high level of knowledge specific to the therapeutic areas covered by assigned account(s).
  • Active participation in the budget setting process as well as forecasting and implementation.
  • Driving organic business growth on assigned account(s) where applicable.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional tactical execution and well thought out strategic insight.
The Account Director should have the following qualifications:
  • Minimum 4+ years agency experience in Medical Communications/ Promotional Medical Education with an emphasis on Pharmaceutical clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, marketing, advertising, or applicable sciences.
  • Demonstrated success taking part in strategic planning and partnership with clients.
  • Experience working closely with pharmaceutical clients with exposure to multiple tactics and therapeutic areas.
  • Ability to travel to clients as needed
