Job description

DSJ Global has partnered with a global, publicly traded firm in the Houston area to find their next Accounting Manager! This role provides financial support to company initiatives, operating entities and acquisitions. Responsible for general accounting, accurate financial reporting, compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Company policies, and quality customer service to other departments within the Company. We’re looking for a CPA that thrives in team driven and fast-paced work environments.


Accounting Manager job responsibilities include the following:
  • Manage the accounting, financial reporting, internal controls and process improvement projects for assigned areas
  • Supervise staff accountants responsible for intercompany accounting, financial reporting support, account reconciliations, consolidating and eliminating entries, and ad hoc reports/reconciliations.
  • Help identify areas of opportunity to realize time savings, process simplification or reduced expenses/losses; and develop solutions to realize benefits
  • Monthly financial reporting including review of consolidated balance sheets and income statements and preparation of cash flow statement included in financial reporting package
  • Ensure that established Sarbanes Oxley controls and processes are followed, including timely signoff on balance sheet reconciliations, check lists, quarterly roll forwards, etc. as well as periodic updates of internal control process narratives.
  • Perform ad hoc projects, as assigned, within the general scope and requirements of this role
  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with other major business units throughout the matrix organization

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
  • CPA eligible; active CPA license preferred
  • 5 – 8 years of experience with demonstrated progressive responsibilities; Big 4/large regional firm experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Sarbanes-Oxley controls
  • Attention to detail and data quality control — effective at researching issues and problem solving
  • Demonstrated capacity for gathering and scrutinizing data to identify issues, opportunities, patterns, and sustainable business solutions
  • Possess the learning capacity to receive and apply cross-functional training; willingness to assist other functions and work groups as needed so the department achieves or exceeds its overall business objectives
