Business Development Manager - Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Location: Switzerland

Overview:

A multinational company that provides qualification and validation support to the Life Sciences industry is seeking a Business Development Manager to expand their customer base in Switzerland.

They are looking for someone with a technical (GMP) background in manufacturing and an aptitude for sales to actively broaden their customer base throughout Switzerland. This person will expand an essential part of the company's portfolio, which includes related industries such as food production and chemical manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying new business opportunities and developing strategy to increase sales volume and establish new Life Sciences accounts in the field of qualification and validation.

  • Maintaining and building referral networks across Switzerland, taking responsibility for the acquisition of new customers and managing long-term relationships.

  • Forecasting and tracking sales to develop a results-focused sales strategy.

  • Building knowledge of market and competitor activities and applying this as part of sales strategies.

  • Maintaining business operations and contract negotiations in line with corporate policies on pricing and quotes, and GMP.

  • Provide insights and proposals on possible product developments or improvements.

  • Act as company ambassador and main point-of-contact for customers by presenting at trade fairs and congresses.

Requirements:

  • Proven sales or business development experience in Life Sciences (i.e. pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemical manufacturing, etc.)

  • Degree-educated in engineering or economics, MBA preferred.

  • Technical qualification and validation experience.

  • High-level of organisation, project management skills are a plus.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of EU and US GMP regulations.

  • Self-driven and capable of working in a diverse business environment.

  • Highly organised and capable of using MS Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to travel 60% within Switzerland and occasionally abroad.

  • Fluent in German and English. French is desirable.
