A Global Consumer Goods organisation is seeking a Category Manager Finsished Foods to join their Food procurement team. Based in Dusseldorf, Germany, it is an exciting time to join the business following several changes within the business which has seen a healthy increase in Sales Revenue over the last quarter. A large multinational turning over more than $40bn a year and with just over 200,000 employees worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Fresh Food strategic category purchasing globally
  • A greenfield opportunity specifically been implemented in the business to lead the hardline negotiations on tough suppliers
  • Responsible for identifying risk and unsustainable Raw materials suppliers and sourcing new sustainable suppliers
  • Run big tenders and projects related to sustainability
  • Create and manage contract suppliers, whilst also having the ability to build, create and implement your own buying strategies

Skills and Experience Required

  • 5+ years experience working within direct purchasing
  • Strong chemical background
  • Ability to project manage
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skill
  • Fluent English and German
  • Good negotiation skills

We are looking for someone with strong leadership capabilities who can manage stakeholders and implement change. You will have fantastic communication skills and look to progress in your career.

You are action-oriented and results driven, and have a passion for focusing on continuous improvement and innovation. This role would suit someone with experience working in a matrix organization and cross functions.
