Job description –

Joining as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will have a unique and exciting opportunity to be part a diverse and motivated team, committed to delivering value and innovative services together with our clients and partners in the primary insurance space.

You will build and lead the Finance Department, and assume responsibility for the entire finance value chain. You are an extremely strategic and commercial CFO, supporting the CEO in building a sizeable and profitable business from its current start-up stage.  You will be responsible for the majority of legal entity finance operations, as well as taking control of capital and regulatory compliance. You will closely with other major teams in the department such as Risk Management, Capital Finance and underwriting and become a key asset reporting directly to the CEO

Although the focus of this role is firmly on the management of the finance function, as a key executive, you will be willing and able to participate in the broader management of the business as required, to act as a senior leadership figure in the Zurich office and to represent the business externally at the highest level.

Your Responsibilities Include
  • Gained at least 10 years post qualification experience, with at least 5 years in business
  • Be a hands-on builder and manager of Finance teams (including recruitment, selection, training and development) that are based in different geographies
  • Be a hands-on leader of the Finance function, able and willing to lead the team by example but equally able to delegate effectively
  • Have practical experience of global groups, structuring, and consolidations
  • Have practical experience of running due diligence processes both as the acquiring party and the target

  • Be making a lateral move from a position of similar responsibility
  • Have demonstrated commitment to previous roles through extended tenure and have a desire to commit to this role long-term
  • Enjoy working in an entrepreneurial business and have past experience working in a Founder-led company
  • You must a degree in finance, law or similar field from a university or equivalent establishment
  • Previous experience in a managing role or a lead role amongst a smaller team
  • .Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English are required; any additional languages would be a plus
