My client is one of the world's leading market research institutes, and they are looking for a talented Cloud Security Engineer to work in their German office.

The successful candidate will develop configuration standards and architectures for standard Data Centre infrastructure components, whilst keeping abreast of potential security threats in order to continually update the network with the latest security technologies.

The Role of Security Engineer
  • Define, implement, and manage the process for defining Data Centre infrastructure blueprints.
  • Collaboration with system experts defining system build and hardening standards for a modern agile Data Centre integrated with cloud providers.
  • Create and promote awareness for the standards with architects and operations teams.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with standards.
  • Provide a global vulnerability management service, support systems owners in remediating vulnerabilities, track remediation, agree remediation exceptions, and report progress to management.
  • Manage remediation programs to address vulnerabilities and new threats as directed by SOC.
  • Coordinate incident response activities for Data Centre security incidents, document lessons learnt from major security incidents and run improvement programs.
  • Drive security related projects in the Global Operation Services organization.

Requirements for the Role

  • Bachelor degree in IT or related.
  • At least 3 years of working experience in a large multi-vendor IT environment.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Good knowledge of Security standards, IT security controls, Infrastructure architectures, vulnerability management and best practices in a multi-vendor environment.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft, open systems and cloud computing (AWS, Azure).
  • Scripting/programing skills for automating infrastructure deployments utilizing APIs.
  • Experience with Nexpose or other vulnerability and compliance checking tools.
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand.
  • Project and program management planning and organizational skills.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a virtual team organization.
