My client is in the business of making homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable. I am currently working with one of the top Mortgage loan companies to find a Control Room and Trading Risk Manager. My client is seeking someone to execute the combined responsibilities of Control Room compliance officer and trade surveillance team. As a key member of the compliance team, the primary responsibilities of this Control Room and Trading Risk Manager is to evaluate the information wall program and the firm's risk-based information wall and trade surveillance program.


Responsibilities Include
  • Monitors current risk management strategies, investment, trading, and liquidity management activities for compliance risk, including change management for internal and external changes
  • Creating trading risk scenarios and a computational framework to support risk assessments and design of trade surveillance
  • Counseling on the implementation of the information wall policy and related standards across the enterprise
  • Designing a risk-based information wall and trade surveillance program to provide effective oversight of capital markets activities
  • Assessing market factors impacting trade and portfolio risk management strategies to maintain oversight program relevance
 

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the capital markets, the principles of an information wall program, trading instruments (including mortgage-backed securities, fixed income, and derivatives).
  • 8 years of experience with knowledge of fixed income capital markets and/or information wall programs
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Exceptional analytic and organization skills
  • Effective working independently as well as in a team (including cross-functional teams and in a changing environment)
  • Experience interacting with executive level personnel, frequently coordinating across organizational lines

Preferred Skills
  • MBA, JD or other graduate degree or advanced studies
  • Experience at a securities or futures regulator
  • Knowledge of mortgage industry
  • Knowledge of securities or futures laws
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
