A rapidly growing Healthcare Technology and Services Company is looking for a Corporate Counsel to join their legal team located in New York City. This Healthcare Technology company is currently looking for a Corporate Counsel who has experience in the healthcare, life sciences, and technology fields. This company is going through an exciting growth project for 2019 and 2020, therefore this position is a very important piece of the inhouse legal buildout. This person will have the opportunity to be involved in the strategy and identity of the legal team.

The Healthcare Corporate Counsel will be responsible for:

  • Reporting to the Associate General Counsel and the legal, privacy, and compliance department with the goal to improve the business and uphold high standards for compliance relating to healthcare, technology, and life science matters
  • Providing legal guidance on areas related to healthcare and technology research activities, such as regulatory, transactional, contractual, and intellectual property areas
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating both corporate and commercial transactions. This includes licensing, data use, clinical trial, consulting agreements, etc.
  • Aiding with multiple healthcare regulatory subjects, involving compliance policy evolution and client training

The Healthcare Corporate Counsel should have the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of legal experience serving healthcare technology and/or life sciences companies
  • Juris Doctor (JD) and member currently in good standing of any State Bar
  • Extensive knowledge of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, as well as other healthcare laws. The Healthcare Corporate Counsel will also need to have great understanding of laws associated with the advancement, detection, sales and marketing or biotechnology products, especially healthcare fraud and abuse laws
  • Background in data use, licensing, technology transactions, and clinical trials agreements
  • Past involvement within the life sciences, healthcare transactional or regulatory divisions of law firm or company
