LVI Associates are currently working on behalf of Electrical Utility Construction Division of a large publicly traded organization with diverse operations across the United States and Canada. They employ a workforce of over 10000 and have been well established for over 100 years.

The organization is looking to for an Experienced Fleet Manager with time served in the Electrical Utility industry to serve as the Director of Fleet Management in the Dallas/ Fort Worth Area. The successful candidate must be familiar with Equipment and Vehicles used for Electrical Utility Construction and have held a position with financial responsibility for a capital expenditure budget.

The Director of Fleet Management will be responsible for over 5000 pieces of equipment, 4 yards and staff including 3-4 Fleet Managers and 50 mechanics. This position will report directly to the President of the Transmission and Distribution Division and will have the potential of becoming a Vice President. The successful candidate will be expected to work cohesively with the senior, regional and project management teams to ensure the efficient distribution and facilitation of equipment to meet the needs of projects across the country.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads by example to show that safety is the most important function, ensuring that all employees follow safe practices while working.
  • Accountable to continually reinforce safe behaviors and correct “at risk” behaviors.
  • Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.
  • Fleet will manage both capital and expense budget of all Fleet vehicles. Will coordinate the operation, maintenance, servicing and repairs of all vehicles with Fleet Management Team.
    • Ensure that adequate supply of vehicle parts is maintained in the stockroom. Initiate purchases of parts and equipment
    • Make recommendations in regards to purchasing production machinery
    • responsible in planning, reviewing, and coordinating vehicle life-cycle replacement programs, operational cost-effectiveness proposals, efficient utilization of the vehicles
    • Hiring and training of Yard Staff including Mechanics, Coordinators, and managers
Requirements:
  • 7+ Years’ experience in Fleet
    • 5+ Years’ in a management position
    • Either located or willing to relocation to the Dallas/ Fort Worth area
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, you will be expected to interface with employees at every level of the organization
    • Clean Driving License/ CDL- preferred
    • Beneficial if familiar with Mechanical Operations
    • Must have had experience in Electrical Utility Industry
    • Record of managing a capital budget.
