Describe the job: Director of Operations

A Global Medical Device company is seeking an experienced Operations Direct to be based in the greater Amsterdam area. The company is about to go through a significant expansion and is building several new facilities across Europe. This position will be given the autonomy to build the leadership team around them and grow the site to 450+ FTEs.


  • Have overall responsibility for performance of the manufacturing facility and achieving the requested manufacturing goals.
  • Responsible for meeting or beating key operating metrics/targets around quality, lead-time, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, operational costs, excellent customer service, etc.
  • Ensure controlled roll-out of process changes and improvements.
  • Build the core competencies of the Dutch organisation to support all operations in the Netherlands.
  • Drive/champion continuous process improvement methodologies and techniques that will create significant efficiency's in the process
  • Build up and sustain a successful, high performing team.
  • Full P+L responsibility

Skills and Experience Required

  • BSc in Engineering or related technical field
  • 7-10 years of experience preferable in the Medical Device Sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain strong business relationships internally & externally.
  • Superior communication, presentation, financial/P&L, negotiation, and problem-solving/analytical skills
  • Experience in lean manufacturing management, Capex project and cost saving measures.
