Electrical Design Engineer

A multi-discipline engineering is seeking an electrical design engineer based in New York. Founded in 1965, the company is a leader in environmental engineering, science, architecture and construction management; including virtually all aspects of the planning, design, and implementation/construction of large and small environmental projects. We have supported hundreds of public and private clients on thousands of projects with budgets ranging from several thousand dollars to over $500M.

  • The design of the electrical power distribution systems, low voltage (480V) Motor Control Centers, electrical control systems and emergency power backup systems for lift stations, water wells, water plants, and wastewater treatment plants and facilities in other industries.
  • Assist on cost estimates, schedules, and recommendations throughout the phases of the project.
  • Prepare construction drawings including electrical site plans, one-line diagrams, control diagrams utilizing ladder logic, conduit schedules, wire schedules, lighting panel schedules, lighting and receptacle plans, and electrical equipment installation details.
  • Prepare contract documents and technical specifications for electrical equipment utilized in a project.
  • Perform electrical inspections of existing facilities.

Skills and Experience Required

  • B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • This position demands an individual with a strong detail-oriented work style, excellent oral and written communication skills, and an accommodating and proactive attitude.
  • Candidates must be comfortable meeting with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Must be capable working in both independent and team environments.
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Evaluate, prepare, edit, implement and maintain electrical CAD drafting standards.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in related field.
