Our client is a leading boutique fund with a strong presence in the equities markets, based in Sydney, who are seeking a self-motivated Global Equity Research Analyst. The candidate would be responsible for formulating all research led activities for the fund with exposure to US and European markets. He/she also builds relationships with analysts in other financial institutions to discuss and exchange views and share learnings. The candidate should have a good knowledge of this market and should have some key market research;

Key Competencies:

  • Strong analytical problem solving and technical skills.
  • Experience doing long only equity analysis.
  • Capability to see the big picture thinking ad identify relevant and reliable information
  • Highly effective written and oral communication skills to produce written reports and presentations as you will be based in Australia
  • Ability to work as part of a team and willingness to have an impact.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills, including ability to manage own workload.
  • Ability to model and value a company;
  • Advanced critical reasoning and ability to make judgement calls;
  • Conduct company and industry research;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Cultural fit and the ability to blend into a highly collegiate environment;
  • Have a strong sense of the financial markets and be able to provide insightful analysis of potential investee companies

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4 - 6 years relevant experience in equity research
  • Degree qualification in finance or related field. Masters/CFA would be looked on favourably.
  • Able to develop own views on market and translate into commercial implications
  • Be willing to be based in Sydney, Australia office
  • Reporting to Portfolio Manager
