A Global Financial services organisation is seeking a Global IT Software Category Manager to be responsible for the global purchasing of the Software category . Based in Frankfurt, Germany, it is a particularly great time to join the organisation as the business is going through a large transformation within their procurement function.

A leader in its market, the company has turned over more than $25bn last year employing just under 100,000 people, they are a big player in the food industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation, implementation and management of sourcing strategies on a global level for a number of high profile accounts
  • Establish important relationships with key suppliers and leading the negotiation with each supplier
  • Create and maintain short term and long term plans for the assigned categories
  • Create detailed stakeholder maps for each category to identify the key decision makers and influencers to ensure the appropriate strategy can be implemented
  • Reporting directly into the Global Software Category Director

Skills and Experience Required

  • 7 year's experience with 4 year's experience in European procurement
  • 3 years experience in software procurement
  • Experience in Financial Service sector
  • Fluent English & German required
  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manager senior level stakeholders
  • Analyse, identify and drive savings

We are looking for a confident individual that is able to build strong, long term relationships with both internal and external suppliers. This individual must be able to use these relationships to influence and support initiatives to ensure financial targets are met.

This person must be able to work within a team, to help and support the transformation. They must be able to work within a pressurised environment and not be afraid in bringing new innovative ideas to a fairly new department. This role would suit someone with experience working in a matrix organisation and cross functions.
