A General Contractor based in Raleigh is looking to hire a Senior Project Manager onto their team. Their long-standing tradition is to serve the transportation and infrastructural needs between and within communities throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast United States.  The role:

  • Prepare and reviews payment requisitions communicate changes in costs and reports on a financial status on a monthly basis
  • Monitors Subcontractor performance to ensure that they are in compliance with all provisions and requirements of the contract with Company.
  • Proactively follows-up with Engineer/owner’s representative to facilitate project schedule and ensures that subcontracts are drafted and executed in a timely fashion to facilitate project schedule
  • Develops an effective plan in conjunction with the Superintendent for constructing the project and helps determine the means and methods necessary (including individual work activities) to meet project goals.
  • Communicates planned means and methods to appropriate parties associated with the project to ensure understanding of goals and responsibilities and ensure that means and methods will maximize production, assure quality, minimize costs, and promote safety
  • Manages the design process for design-build projects, including the design engineer firm and reviews plans for construct-ability and cost savings
  • Develops a schedule in conjunction with the Superintendent that complies with customer needs, adheres to the terms of the contract, and supports planning needs of the company
Key Requirements:
  • Associates Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business related field with a minimum of 10 years progressive construction experience, 7 of which being in a leadership role
  • Four-year degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a Business related field with a minimum of 8 years progressive construction experience, 5 of which being in a leadership role
  • Previous experience with DOT, design-build and private and public projects is required.
