I.     Position Summary


As the Medical Director, you provide exemplary overall accountability for all medical/scientific aspects of assigned brand across network channels – medical education, professional, online and offline promotional, digital and managed markets.  You will ensure the medical/scientific credibility for existing projects and supports business proposals, based on medical/scientific knowledge and clinical expertise.  


II.         Responsibilities

  • You will ensure consistency of medical messages and support across communication channels
  • You will be responsible for reviewing scientific materials (promotional) for scientific accuracy and appropriateness
  • You will Act as the lead client facer, between KOLs, clients, and internal groups
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with KOLs
  • Answers a variety of day-to-day queries of medical/scientific nature related to currently assigned products and therapeutic categories
  • Assists project teams by providing scientific input at critical junctures
  • Familiarizes himself/herself with product strategic plans
  • Educates internal groups on disease, treatment, new products and indications
  • Attends internal planning and start-up meetings to offer medical and scientific input
  • Presents to clients and potential clients, as needed
  • Identifies potential opportunities for existing products and new business efforts

IV.  Requirements

  • 2-3 years or more of relevant health care communications experience
  • PhD, MD, or PharmaD
  • Professional advertising and/or promotional medical education experience required
  • Multiple therapeutic area experiences preferred
  • Ability to travel including weekends
  • Interest in the marketing field
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Good communication and consulting skills
