Job description:

High performing agency located in New Jersey is looking for a full-time Medical Director to help impact the success of the agency. As Medical Director, you will lead medical writing activities for multiple projects, ensure high-quality scientific content creation, develop clinical document strategy and adhere to internal processes while working with a high level of independence.

This agency has a long established history and is poised for growth. You will work directly with the VP, Medical Director who will serve as a mentor for your continued professional growth. Alongside the VP, you will play a key role in advancing the organization’s objectives and see the direct impact of your work. Reporting into you will be at least one high performing medical writer whose development you will oversee.

There is a strong collaborative atmosphere and low employee turnover rate. The agency is known for its flexible work-life balance. This position has been opened due to a continuous stream of incoming business and the agency is seeking to hire someone to ensure they are not running lean.

Medical Director Responsibilities
  • A successful Medical Director will provide medical insights during brand planning and strategic development meetings.
  • You will serve as lead medical contact on assigned accounts.
  • You are responsible for providing strategic direction across therapeutic projects.
  • Develop and write medical content for various therapeutic areas.
  • Work directly with key clients across their most innovative new treatments.
  • Work closely with account and strategic services to ensure clients’ initiatives are met.
  • Mentor junior writers.
  • You will supervise all projects within the account to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • You and your team will develop credible content for a full range of deliverables (slide presentations, advisory boards, posters, strategy guides, etc).
  • Develop and manage key opinion leader relationships.
  • Working closely with both account and creative teams to create content that meets the objectives of strategic imperatives.
Medical Director Requirements
  • Advanced degree in the sciences (PhD, PharmD, MD).
  • Prior experience in a Medical Communications agency; Promotional medical education experience preferred.
