Mid-Level Structural Engineers - Auburn, ME

A structural engineer/designer firm based in both Auburn and Portland ME are actively looking for mid-level structural engineers and designers who have the potential to lead a team of junior structural designers and have the ability to develop their structural teams. The company that I am currently working with, in order to keep up with the current boom for both commercial, residential, high rise and low rise structures in the Maine area are keen to add to their team to compete and keep up with the demand for projects. Maine is an up and coming state where the chances to develop your structural careers being evident due to the new financial year just around the corner.

The requirements for the mid-level structural engineer positions in the Maine area is:
- Minimum of 5 years' structural design experience or the ability to obtain within the next 6 months
- PE licensed
- Ability to work well with others and have good communication skills
- Bachelors degree in structural engineering, masters preferred
- Proficient or the ability to learn RAM, REVIT, and RISA-3D
- Comfortable with traveling between offices

The responsibilities for the mid-level structural engineer positions in the Maine area is:
- Analyze configurations of the basic structural components of a building or other structure
- Calculate the pressures, stresses, and strains that each component, such as a beam or lintel, will experience from other parts of the structure due to human use or environmental pressures such as weather or earthquakes
- Consider the strength of various materials, e.g. timber, concrete, steel, and brick, to see how their inclusion may necessitate a change of structural design
- Liaise with other designers, including architects, to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic concept of the construction
- Examine structures at risk of collapse and advising how to improve their structural integrity, such as recommending removal or repair of defective parts or rebuilding the entire structure

These structural engineer positions give you the opportunity to continue and develop your structural skills in the Maine area of either Auburn or Portland. This, in turn, will allow you to grow within the business structure from management to principal level if you prove yourself. For the level of experience, the company is looking for you will be looking at a high base salary with a standard benefits package including 401K and healthcare.
