My client is Europe’s leading independent investment research company. They write on more than 200 companies across every sector. Working directly with corporates, investment banks and fund managers, their research is read by every major institutional investor in the UK, as well as by the private client broker and international investor communities.

They are looking for a junior Natural Resources Research Analyst. This individual will be focusing on the Oil & Gas sector, working closely internally with team heads, and interacting with buyside clients. It is a great opportunity to participate in work that will be published, and possibly progress onto other buyside roles if interested.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build multiples based valuation models
  • Produce in-depth equity research reports and presentations for buy-side clients
  • Construct and update annual and quarterly financial models to forecast revenues
  • Provide sales support by presenting investment opportunities to buy-side analysts and portfolio managers and responding to ad-hoc queries
  • Gauge true financial performance by calculating pro-forma earnings with adjustments for non-recurring income statement items and by capitalising leases and R&D expenses
  • Assess public M&A deals by valuing potential synergy and control premiums.

Experience and Qualifications Required
• Bachelor degree or higher
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in the financial industries, or an Engineering degree
• Experience reviewing financial statements and accountancy
• Excellent financial analytical skills
• Avidly interested and have a passion for research and writing
