A world recognised consultancy is looking for a new Principal Fire Engineer to join their company. After huge international success, the opening of the London Office marks the start of the break into the European market.


Technical functions of Principal Fire Engineer
  • Produce fire strategies for all types of buildings across many different sectors
  • Negotiate with all necessary approval authorities on fire safety design and proposals
  • Project manage fire engineering projects
  • Produce performance and material specifications for all fixed fire protection systems Carry out peer review of fire engineering calculations including smoke modelling and evacuation analysis
Business functions of Principal Fire Engineer
  • Represent the company in a professional capacity to clients, other design team members, and approval authorities
  • Lead meetings with above to discuss and understand project scope, deliver suitable solutions and options
  • Identify any business development opportunities
  • Assist in the preparation of fee bids
  • Identify further works outside the original project scope
  • Identify and manage project resourcing
  • Identify project risk issues and highlight
  • Attend relevant conference and report back to fire engineering team
Desired skills and experience of Principal Fire Engineer
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven past experience in a busy fire engineering consultancy
  • Degree qualified and working towards chartered status
  • Knowledge of CFD and evacuation modelling
