A leading Medical Communications Agency company is seeking an experienced Medical Writer based in London, United Kingdom. This international organisation is seeking to expand their Medical Communications team following a strong period of growth.  The Principal Medical Writer will enjoy great autonomy in their work as well as exposure to leadership responsibility as they mentor less experienced writers in the team. 


This global company specialises in oncology, cardiology and neurology and any candidate will be expected to possess experience in core and/or niche therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities:
  • Produce high quality, scientifically accurate copy
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of new developments in therapy area by reviewing scientific literature, occasionally attending scientific congresses and online research learning
  • Client relationship building and management plus maintenance of relationships with Key Opinion Leaders
  • Contribute to strategy and commercialisation of drug and assist identification of opportunities to communicate relevant information
  • The Principal Medical Writer is seen as an expert in medical writing and performs work independently with minimal supervision.

Skills and Experience Required:
  • Degree (or equivalent) in science, health profession, or journalism required.  Masters or PhD level degree ideal.
  • 2+ years’ experience within a Medical Communications agency environment preferred
  • Experience across a broad range of projects and the adaptability to apply those experiences to new projects
  • Project leadership capability, process management and organisational skills
  • Commercial awareness and ability to satisfy client needs
  • Proactive problem solving capability
