An innovative, dynamic, leading healthcare communications organisation one of the most renowned communications agencies globally are looking to hire a Principal Medical Writer to provide support their rapidly growing team. This role will be located in Macclesfield/Manchester, United Kingdom; the write, edit, and proof-read text for company products as well as work with design and production teams to produce a range of printed and digital materials to meet client expectations.

  • Assist with development of concepts for editorial projects
  • Write or edit publication manuscripts, slide kits, monographs, newsletters, meeting reports, posters, and other materials that utilize assimilated knowledge of specialized therapeutic area
  • Draft and edit work in different writing styles targeted at different audiences
  • Checks and ensures the quality of others work, in terms of both accuracy and satisfying the project brief.
  • Research medical and scientific topics utilizing various information services including in-house reference system, online journal subscriptions, libraries, and literature search databases
Skills and Experience Required

  • Ideally 4 years’ experience in a medical communications agency environment researching, writing, editing, and preparing high-quality material for a broad range of project types that meet or exceed client expectations
  • A keen interest in medical science, the pharmaceutical industry, and writing
  • A proven track record in managing and leading multiple projects
  • An ability to meet strict deadlines and specifications
  • An ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Experience in mentoring and/or line managing junior team members
  • Advanced degree in the life sciences required; post-graduate qualification preferred
