Position Title:         Regional Sales Manager, Northeast

FLSA Status:          Exempt

Regional Sales Manager


Our client is a global provider of reverse osmosis (RO) membranes that change the fundamental Economics of desalination. Based on breakthrough nanostructured materials and industry-proven polymer technology, thin-film nanocomposite (TFN) membranes improve desalination energy efficiency and productivity. Exhibiting the highest permeability (flux) on the market, our client’s membranes maintain industry-standard salt rejection while purifying the broad range of water sources. Designed to retrofit existing desalination plants worldwide, these membranes are at the forefront of combating critical water scarcity issues. This key sales person will be responsible for not only successfully launching our client’s RO membranes in the assigned territory within the US and Canada but also achieving company sales targets.

Responsibilities
  • Execution of our client’s “go to market” strategy in the assigned region.
  • Calling regularly on new potential customers delivering highly effective communications.
  • Works with Application Engineering staff and understands risk management.
  • Achieve our client’s sales targets and manage regional sales budgets.
  • Communicate our client’s sales and technical concepts clearly to regional EPCs, OEMs, distributors and Owner / Operators of RO plants.
  • Identify and manage sales opportunities through our client’s commercial process.
  • Identify and structure relationships with strategic partners in select region that can help company achieve sales targets.
  • Travel 35% to 70% of the time.
  • Monthly progress reporting to senior management at our client’s Torrance CA, office.
  • Build and maintain appropriate distribution network and channels to market.
  • Forecast stocking requirements to shorten customer lead times.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or Marketing.
  • Self-starter with 4+ years in sales and/or application engineering in the RO market with experience interfacing with customers.
  • Knowledge of RO market having existing relationships with customers within region.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering issues surrounding reverse osmosis plants including pretreatment options, pump selection, piping design and chemical addition.
  • Thrives working in entrepreneurial environment with short cycle times delivering results.
  • An understanding of membrane processes and system design along with a demonstrated attention to detail and innovation.
  • Track record of having worked independently and productively in remote locations (home offices) with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, experience using customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and familiarity with RO projection software.
  • Excellent organizational skills as well as written and verbal communications skills.

General Skills/Abilities: Proven attention to detail, follow through, excellent organization, written and verbal English communication skills. Competent in Microsoft office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements:Standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, light lifting up to 45 pounds,computer operation, frequent travel domestic and internationally by air/rail/auto, ability to work in various types of locations and manufacturing environment.
