A leading Medical Communications Agency company is seeking an experienced Medical Writer based in the United Kingdom, near Manchester. This global organisation is seeking to expand their Medical Communications team following a strong period of growth. This is an ideal opportunity for experienced writers to take the next step, where they will enjoy great autonomy in their work as well as exposure to leadership responsibility as they mentor less experienced writers in the team.

This global company specialises in delivering quality content across a plethora of therapeutic areas and any candidate will be expected to possess experience in multiple core and niche therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce high quality, scientifically accurate copy
  • Lead the delivery of multiple projects or programs of work in accordance with individual project briefs and overall account priorities
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of new developments in therapy area by reviewing scientific literature, occasionally attending scientific congresses and online research learning
  • Client relationship building and management plus maintenance of relationships with Key Opinion Leaders
  • Contribute to strategy and commercialisation of drug and assist identification of opportunities to communicate relevant information
  • The STL is seen as an expert in medical writing and performs work independently with minimal supervision.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in science - at Masters or PhD level degree ideal.
  • 4+ years' experience within a Medical Communications agency environment preferred
  • Proven scientific project leadership in a medical communications agency environment
  • Proven experience in the development/mentoring/coaching of junior colleagues
  • Strong financial acumen & problem solving ability
  • High level of drive, motivation and initiative
  • Extensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, particularly medical affairs
  • Wide-ranging therapeutic area knowledge
