Company Summary: A leading Medical Communications agency in NYC is seeking an Account Director to join their dynamic and growing team. This is a new position in the company and offers the opportunity for a qualified individual to further build on existing agency experience to move into a leadership role. The Account Director will work directly with Clients to oversee Medical Communications strategies from the initial planning phase, budgeting, establishment of SOW/ timelines, and final implementation. You will act as the main point of contact between the agency and Client and maintain regular contact with both them and senior leadership. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure the delivery of exceptional results and drive organic growth on your existing accounts. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience working in Medical Communications with demonstrated expertise working in Advisory Boards, Symposia, Congresses, Product Theaters, Speaker Bureaus, or other familiar tactics in the Promotional Medical Education industry. An engaging, forward thinking personality is perfect for this role and this individual can expect great visibility with senior leadership.

The Account Director will be responsible for:

  • Managing the day to day client relationship by providing status updates, strategic consultation, and general industry know-how related to pharmaceutical marketing covering both digital and print tactics.

  • Directly oversee junior team members and direct reports as required by account.

  • Maintaining a high level of knowledge specific to the therapeutic areas covered by assigned account(s).

  • Active participation in budget setting process as well as forecasting and implementation.

  • Driving organic business growth on assigned account(s) where applicable.

  • Collaboration with cross functional teams to deliver exceptional tactical execution and well thought out strategic insight.

The Account Director should have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 4+ years agency experience in Medical Communications with an emphasis on Promotional Medical Education.

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, marketing, advertising, or applicable sciences.

  • Demonstrated success taking part in strategic planning and partnership with clients.

  • Experience working closely with pharmaceutical clients with exposure to multiple tactics and therapeutic areas.

  • Ability to travel to clients as needed
