The Company:

A fully integrated Group and the world's largest independent pool and commercial management company is looking to expand their Oil & Refined Products, Analytics department.

With an owned and operated fleet of vessels across a range of classes, the Group is able to provide services across the board for their customers on a global basis.

The private equity and debt markets are a strong focus for the business and they offer structured products that give investors access to project advisory, vessel management and/or ownership solutions, as well as direct involvement in the charter markets.

The Group specialises in clean products, crude tankers, chemicals and offshore sectors - all areas where they have seen exponential growth in recent years - providing candidates with a strong platform for personal and career development.

Primary Function:

The role is for an experienced Research Analyst with at least 5 years of experience focused on the Oil & Refined products markets gained either within a trading house, oil major or consultancy.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Use multiple sources of data to create original analysis and conclusions on the state of petroleum markets and the shipping industry.

  • Experience of analysing energy markets including the maintenance and development of models projecting supply/demand balances and pricing.

  • Experience of advanced data analysis and modelling.

  • Experience or a desire to learn how to use programs such as Tableau and Alteryx.

  • The ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, with strong time and stakeholder management skills, whilst working under pressure.

Individual Attributes:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in an Analyst role within the Oil & Refined Products markets, a shipping background would be advantageous.

  • Attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to interact directly with external stakeholders and pool partners in a professional manner are must haves.

  • Ability to handle sharp deadlines and entrepreneurial spirit a strong plus.
