Our client is a global investment firm based here in Chicago, IL. They have a strong financial technology presence and are looking to add a Senior Cloud Engineer to be a leading member of their Technology team here in Chicago.

This role is responsible for the support and management of the our client's network infrastructure. Ideally, this candidate will have prior experience supporting medium to large networks, data center management, cloud infrastructure management will have worked with various networking tools and protocols, a good understanding of network security, and a desire to stay current with new technology solutions. The ideal candidate will also be located in the Chicago Area.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain and monitor cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, MS Azure, Office 365).
  • Conduct short-term and long-term network architecture planning to meet current and expanding business requirements.
  • Configuration in AWS (e.g., Sophos web filtering, VPC backup and Mgmt., KMS).
  • Manage and support Linux systems and Windows systems.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) expertise (e.g., EC2, account access, security groups).
  • Maintain and build scripts to manage the cloud infrastructure and server instances.
  • Work with the Information Security and Software Development departments to design an operating environment and data flow that is secure.
  • Develop testing and implementation plans for projects with multiple moving parts.
  • Provide top level network support within defined SLAs.
  • Actively participate in troubleshooting and RCA for security and INF events.
  • Consistently provide high quality work in a deadline driven environment.
  • Troubleshoot router and switch connectivity. 
  • Accountable for accomplishing tasks both independently and collaboratively.
 REQUIREMENTS
  • At least 7 years of network or network management experience in a technical networking role, including – but not limited to – design, implementation, disaster recovery, network security architecture and engineering.
  • BA/BS Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field. Industry certifications preferred.
  • Platform and OS experience: Linux, UNIX, Server 2003, Server 2008, Server 2012, Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, iOS.
  • Must have Cloud experience with AWS; experience with MS Azure, Office 365, and/or Force.com is a plus.
  • Proven ability to provide automation solutions using PowerShell, Python and JSON.
  • Strong experience with WAN/LAN technologies, legacy protocols, and networking techniques.
  • Experience with various networking components such as: Cisco equipment, NetApp, WebSense, Juniper, ACLs, Firewalls, VPN, MPLS, SSL, TLS, SMTP, DNS, DCHP.
  • Experience with remote access technology such as: Citrix, OWA, Juniper (SSL VPN), Cisco VPN, etc.
  • Proven analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Prior experience with Dell and Cisco hardware.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment, effectively and efficiently.
  • Outstanding client service skills and ability to present ideas in user-friendly manner.
  • Highly self-motivated.
  • Strong attention to detail.
