Senior Data Architect, ETL Architect

My client is a multi-national credit report firm based in Chicago, IL. They are looking to add a Senior Data Architect to be a leading member of their Enterprise Architecture organization.

The ideal candidate will have a significant number of years of experience with ETL and Big Data as well as Ab Initio based solutions. They will also be located in Chicago or the surrounding area.

Qualifications:
  • At least 10 years of Big Data and ETL experience
  • Experience in Financial Services
  • Proficiency with Linux, including strong shell scripting skills.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a strong technical IT environment
  • Experience with the broader Ab Initio tool suite such as Express>It, Continuous Flows, Control Center is a plus.
  • Finger on the pulse of the rapidly evolving Big Data/Hadoop/Data Management ecosystem
  • Developing and designing data intensive Ab Initio based solutions
  • Operational experience supporting massive production data stores
  • Strong organizational effectiveness and communication skills; proven ability to effectively influence in a matrixed organization
  • Ability to think outside the box and apply unconventional solutions to conventional problems.   
  • Comfortable interacting with senior management across different teams.
  • CI/CD, Jenkins, automation experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of how Ab Initio applications and systems interact with the underlying hardware ecosystem
  • Master Data Management and Data Governance experience 
  • Experience working in an agile project development lifecycle
  • Strong in-depth knowledge of databases and database concepts.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of advance Ab Initio concepts such as, project architecture, meta-programming, vectors, parallelism, performance tuning, debugging, SMP/MPP architectures, platform integrations (Hadoop, Java, C, etc.)
  • Ability to engage in and recommend technical solutions for complex problems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint.)
  • Strong communication skills that create effective cross team collaboration and quality   documentation.
