Plumbing / Fire Protection Engineer requirements:

BS in Mechanical Engineering with focus on plumbing and fire protection
Minimum 10-12 years experience, preferably in NYC/NYS
Professional Engineering License required

Plumbing / Fire Protection Engineer responsibilities:

To manage the day to day tasks of the discipline to ensure quality designs progress in accordance to schedule and within budgetary guidelines. The ideal candidate must have solid experience in the design projects, detailing, and specification of Plumbing and Fire Protection systems. Must be able to:
  • Manage all aspects of design, plan preparation, client coordination
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills in English; additional proficiency in conversational Spanish is preferred
  • Solve design problems using engineering/hydraulic calculations and following general design standards
  • Be intimately familiar with New York State / New York City Building Codes and requirements including permitting process and workplace safety
  • Provide design services to multiple concurrent projects
  • Assist with training junior members of the design team
  • Provide direct professional support to clients
  • Knowledgeable of AutoCAD/BIM Revit Version 11
  • LEED Certified, CPD Preferred
