A client that I am exclusively working for over in Morristown is actively looking for senior structural engineers to join their continuously growing firm. By working with their own in-house team of architects, projects are flooding in resulting in this potential hire. The firm itself has grown from a team of 3 back in 1999 to a well-established firm of over 70, looking to dominate the New Jersey structural market. As a company, they will provide you with the steady platform to grow and progress within the business structure towards becoming a project manager and beyond.

In regards to the position itself, as a senior structural engineer, you will be required to of had some experience in most steel or concrete structures from residential to mixed-used, have an EIT license (but PE is preferred) and is comfortable working in a team.

The requirements for the senior structural positions are:

- New building and renovation experience a bonus

The responsibilities of the senior structural positions are:
- Analyse configurations of the basic structural components of a building or other structure
- Calculate the pressures, stresses and strains that each component, such as a beam or lintel, will experience from other parts of the structure due to human use or environmental pressures such as weather or earthquakes
- Consider the strength of various materials, e.g. timber, concrete, steel and brick, to see how their inclusion may necessitate a change of structural design
- Liaise with other designers, including architects, to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic concept of the construction
- Examine structures at risk of collapse and advising how to improve their structural integrity, such as recommending removal or repair of defective parts or rebuilding the entire structure
