My Client, a leading European Bank is looking to expand its Transaction Banking Sales team with 2 Headcounts, one in Trade Finance (Transactional + Structured) and one in Cash Management (Liquidity Solutions) in Shanghai. 
The incumbent will have excellent local market and product knowledge and will be working closely with MNCs, SOEs and POEs to originate and deepen client relationships and profitability.

  • Work closely with Corporate Relationship Managers by providing product advisory, designing of solutions and winning Transaction Banking mandates/ deals
  • Identify revenue growth opportunities from existing customer base through engagement of sales & relationship teams.
  • Actively participate in opportunities to update product skills, understand market trends and competitor behaviours.
  • Participate actively in pipeline reviews with the objective of tracking sales activities, provide deals status updates, escalating issues, sharing successes (with objective of replication of success) and lessons learnt
  • Establish close working relationship with customer and functional stakeholders, ranging from Business Units, Legal, Credit, Technology and Operations to achieve strong business momentum and effective/efficient end-to-end processes for won deals.
  • Manage client profitability, through provision of periodic updates, as agreed with Head of Transaction Banking, China.



  • Holder of a University Degree.
  • Experience in working in China, especially at a local level in Shanghai/ neighbouring cities. 
  • More than 8 years of transaction banking experience in sales/solutioning/ product positions focusing on either Trade Finance or Cash Management Solutions. Past experience servicing the Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking segment is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; Good networking abilities.
  • Good working knowledge of working capital solutions and ability to articulate value propositions from a working capital perspective.
