Cross asset sales and structuring professionals are responsible for delivering structured, cross-industry and cross-asset solutions to a diverse set of businesses and clients.  They develop and distribute investing, hedging, financing and optimization strategies for all client segments including corporations, asset managers, banks, pensions, insurance companies and endowments.
Cross asset sales and structuring specialists work to understand their clients’ risk management needs (including legal, regulatory and tax) in depth, and propose solutions which address these needs with the use of derivative and financing products. 

Job Specification, Salary, Outlook
Cross asset sales and structuring professionals are responsible for conducting in-depth and comprehensive industry and company research in connection with product management and investment strategy. As part of the role, they lead negotiation and documentation sessions with partners and clients. They are typically required to liaise with clients, internal partners and third-party advisors, as well as preparing marketing materials and transaction screening memos for syndication efforts.

It depends on a number of factors, but the average salary for cross asset sales and structuring professionals in the United States is $55,973 per annum, with a range of $37,000 - $83,000. Factors that affect the level of salary include job location, technical skills, experience and academic background. Job Description
Cross asset sales and structuring professionals are involved in developing and executing different structured derivative solutions, which are linked to cross-asset quantitative investment strategies, as well as funds, equities and hybrid underlying. This is a diverse and varied role, with the opportunity to work across a number of clients and products. Cross asset sales and structuring professionals will typically manage several projects at once, both individually and as part of a team.    

Typical Responsibilities

  • Booking and tracking different types of trades 
  • Finalizing the price and executing primary and secondary market transactions of structured products
  • Producing marketing documents 
  • Interacting daily with the marketing and structuring / pricing teams 
  • Providing a high level of operational support to the sales team
  • Managing client requests and producing reports
  • Working with IT teams, back-offices and middle offices, to solve operational or business issues related to products sold
  • Ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and procedures 
  • Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of client databases   
  • Improving processes and identifying areas to reduce costs and fix broken workflows 

Key Skills & Qualifications      
Cross asset sales and structuring candidates should have relevant experience in capital markets or investment banking. They must possess a strong quantitative background with a solid understanding of derivatives and bonds. Cross asset sales and structuring candidates must have creative and strategic thinking capability, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Cross asset sales and structuring professionals should have a degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field. You should have an interest in financial markets, and candidates with relevant experience in the field of derivative marketing/structuring are preferred.
